Garden of Gethsemane

Originally an oil painting on canvas, this scene depicts the Garden of Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. The garden’s famous olive trees are visible in the foreground and the wall of the Old City can be seen in the distance. The garden is named in the New Testament as the place where Jesus and his disciples prayed the night before the crucifixion.┬áCourtesy of Bridgeman Images.
