Sabeel

$35

A Sabeel is a public water fountain, often decorated with stone carvings, for use by thirsty passersby or for washing before prayers. Benefactors often built a Sabeel as a charitable act and it was customary to bless the founder while taking the free drink. Issa’s ink sketch depicts the Sabeel in the grounds of Al Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem.
