The impressive architecture of the 1930s villa built by writer and scholar Issaf Nashashibi in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Jerusalem still attracts attention today. This landmark boasts a façade of beautiful Armenian ceramic tiles, the work of the famous Balian Studio in the city.

About the Artist: Israa Frehat

Israa Frehat was born in Nablus. In 2011, she was awarded a diploma with distinction in contemporary arts from the Kadoorie Technical University in Ramallah. Subsequent studies at the International Academy of Art led to Israa participating in several local exhibitions. Israa has lived in Bethlehem since 2015 and is active in the local art scene. Her work has appeared in both local galleries and in international exhibitions in London, New York and Washington.
